About Us
Pioneering Sustainable Marine Innovation
Green Marine Concepts BV, founded in 2017, leads the Autark-Zero project, a prototype developed and built by subsidiary B.O.O.T. Innovation Platform BV. Our core team includes experts in naval architecture, engineering, shipbuilding, marine electronics, and software. Supported by the European Fund for Regional Development, we collaborate with partners in the open-source community to advance innovative recreational boating.
Our Vision
Self-Sustainable & Autonomous Sailing
As global waterways grow busier and the environmental impact of recreational boating increases, the need for sustainable and innovative solutions is more urgent than ever. At Green Marine Concepts, we believe that pollution-free and self-sufficient boats will revolutionise the way we explore our planet’s waters. Our project, the Autark-Zero, aims to prove this vision.
The erosion of reed fringes and embankments, and the dumping of grey and black water in cruising grounds proof a clear need for change. Additionally, traditional boating practices are becoming more untenable as regulations tighten, particularly in high-traffic areas like Amsterdam, where combustion engines will soon be banned.
Beyond recreational boating, we are pioneering the use of sustainable materials in shipbuilding: Timber, often overlooked in modern maritime construction, holds immense potential. By leveraging advancements in design software, glue processes, and computer-driven milling, we aim to reintroduce timber as a viable alternative to steel and concrete. Our vision includes developing robust, solar-powered freighters with rigid wing sails, designed for autonomous, emission-free journeys.
The maritime industry is entering a transformative shift and, at Green Marine Concepts, we are committed to leading this evolution, proving that sustainable boating is not just possible but preferable. Join us in our journey to redefine the future of maritime travel.
